To celebrate, Women’s Month, representatives from the Student Support Services Unit Esikhawini and the College Marketing attended the Madumelana Foundation Women’s Sport Tournament at Mona Sports Ground in Nongoma on 9 August.
Noma Mnyandu educated young women about how they can use the skills attained at uMfolozi College for the betterment of their community.
“The scarcity of job opportunities now calls for women to use skills in agriculture and engineering to start their own business and not to only think that opportunities are only available in the big cities. There’s an array of resources available even in areas like Nongoma that one can use to start a business and create opportunities,” Mnyandu added. She went on to discuss the various departments under the Student Support Services unit that assist students once they are enrolled at the College. After the informative speeches, the young women took to the field to compete in soccer and netball.
