


uMfolozi TVET College extends its congratulations to the 110 youth who successfully completed the Short Skills Training Programme at Vuma and Esicabazini Youth Academy funded by the KwaZulu Natal Department of Social Development recently.
The ceremony marked a major milestone in youth empowerment, job creation and community development within the province. The College extends its appreciation to MEC Mbali Shinga for her unwavering support in equipping young people especially those from disadvantaged communities.
This cohort of students, completed training in key vocational fields such as plumbing, hospitality, community house building and end-user computing, with the NYDA providing additional business management training. Each beneficiary also received a start-up business toolkit aligned to their area of study.
In her message of support, Mrs Nsibande, ASD: Partnerships and Linkages, reaffirmed the college’s commitment to working closely with DSD and other partners to broaden training opportunities. She emphasized that strong partnerships are essential to ensuring that young people gain relevant skills and access meaningful pathways to sustainable livelihoods.
