To promote the use of indigenous languages, uMfolozi TVET College hosted a Cultural celebration at Esikhawini Campus, recently. The aim of the event is to celebrate African intellectualls such as Professor Sibusiso Nyembezi, Dr BW Vilakazi and Dr Pixlet Ka Isaka Seme. The event, hosted by renowned writer and Ukhozi FM’s Bongani Mavuso was done in partnership with the KZN Department of Arts and Culture.

Esikhawini Campus Manager, Khaya Zulu was excited that the Campus was chosen to host the event. He urged students to learn as much as they can from the talented artists however pointed out that there was still a long way to go in order for people to fully embrace the African culture.

Sbusiso Nzimande encouraged the students to frequently communicate in vernacular. He thanked the sponsors of the event and said the programme will continue in uMgungundluvu as uMfolozi was chosen among 3 other College to host the prestigious event. This was followed by entertaining perfomances from College poets to famous maskandi artists such as Ntencane and may more.
